Pilot programme
Help shape the future of Mid Wales.
We are exploring an initial pilot in Powys to learn which connections would create practical value and what infrastructure is needed to support them.
No funded or officially approved pilot is being claimed. This is an invitation to shape a possible programme.
Initial area of interest
A connected cluster in central Powys.
Research is particularly interested in the communities and travel-to-work relationships around Newtown, Llanbrynmair, Welshpool and Llanidloes. These locations are a starting point for listening, not a fixed boundary.
What we could explore
Focused, practical learning.
Activities would be selected with participants, based on local need, capacity, safety and regulatory considerations.
Map reusable materials and surplus resources
Connect farmers with community food organisations
Explore scrap-metal and construction-material reuse
Identify shared machinery and equipment
Support local repair initiatives
Investigate access to underused assets
An open invitation
Join a discovery conversation.
We would like to speak with organisations and residents through interviews, small workshops and future pilot activities. You do not need a complete project idea — practical observations and local knowledge are valuable.
